Janis C. Puracal, sister of Jason Puracal, detained at Modelo Prison, Tipitapa, insists on the innocence of his relative. Jason was sentenced to 22 years charged with money laundering.

In their eagerness to prove the innocence of his brother, Janis has touched many doors, including a complaint for arbitrary detention against the government of Nicaragua to the United Nations Organization (UNO). This is because at its discretion in the trial of his brother, the country has violated not only the national but the international laws.

These efforts abroad the independent has made an appeal to introduce your advocate in the courts of Granada. "The government must respond promptly, if not action is taken," said the sister of the prisoner.

The U.S. Senate has followed the letter sent Janis Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

"Apparently Jason used as a point," said Puracal, after mentioning that his brother has a bank account of a trust, but that corresponds to the real estate company which customers deposited money.

Janis's last hope is that judges Puracal review the case.

Puracal was arrested along with 10 Nicaraguan accused of not only money laundering but also to form a group with alleged illegal purposes. Puracal arrived in Nicaragua on a mission belonging to the Peace Corps, and remained as a resident.
